A 60-day cruise through the Land Down Under is being halted days after the tragic passing of an elderly female passenger who was stranded by the ship on a remote coastal location.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with shipmates from the vessel, but parted ways from the party for a break. The ship departed without her and went back later that day after the ship staff discovered the lady was unaccounted for.

An extensive search operation discovered her remains the subsequent day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the tragedy, alongside police and the state coroner.

The CEO of the shipping company stated that guests and personnel on the ship were notified that the rest of the voyage had been terminated due to the "sad loss and earlier technical problems".

The offspring of the elderly passenger said that her loved ones was "shocked and saddened that the vessel left the location after an scheduled excursion without my parent".

Via her announcement, she portrayed her parent as an "active octogenarian" who was a participant of a hiking club.
