Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Soldiers Group
Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences growing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the party understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the party enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which characters will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
